Bright Pattern Contact Center Software Documentation
Effective date: 2026-07-14 · Last updated: 2026-07-14

This website (help.brightpattern.com) provides product documentation for Bright Pattern Contact Center software. It is operated by Bright Pattern, Inc., a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in Pleasanton, California, USA ("we," "us").

What We Collect

Analytics data. We use a self-hosted instance of Matomo, an open-source analytics tool, to understand how visitors use this documentation (pages viewed, referring site, browser type, approximate location derived from an anonymized IP address, date and time of visit). Matomo is configured as follows:

  • No analytics cookies or other identifiers are stored on your device (cookieless mode).
  • IP addresses are anonymized before storage (the last two bytes are masked) and are never stored in full.
  • All data is processed and stored on our own servers and is not shared with, sold to, or accessible by any third party, including advertising networks.
  • Data is used solely for aggregate audience statistics and is retained for no more than 6 months.
  • The "Do Not Track" browser setting is honored.

Server logs. Like most websites, our web servers keep standard technical logs (IP address, request URL, timestamp, user agent) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are retained for 180 days.

Account data (editors only). If you have an editor account and log in, the site sets strictly necessary session cookies required for authentication, and we store the account information you provided (username, email address). These cookies are essential for the service you requested and are not used for tracking. Visitors who only read documentation receive no cookies at all.

Legal Basis (EEA/UK Visitors)

We process anonymized analytics and server log data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in maintaining and improving this documentation. Session cookies and account data for editors are processed as necessary to provide the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

What We Don't Do

We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, fingerprinting for profiling, or third-party analytics services. We do not combine documentation analytics with any other data about you.

Opting Out of Analytics

Although our analytics are anonymized and cookieless, you may opt out entirely:

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (EEA/UK) or the California Attorney General. Because our analytics data is anonymized, we generally cannot link it to you; requests concerning editor accounts can be addressed to the contact below. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.

Data Transfers

This site is hosted in Northern California. If you access it from outside that region, your requests are processed there. We apply the safeguards described in this policy to all visitors regardless of location.

Children

This site is intended for business users of Bright Pattern software and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
